1980 - Victoria Taylor helps the Oregon soccer team to back-to-back league titles and a spot in the 1981 AIAW national tournament (the NCAA did not sponsor women’s sports until 1982). She is the first Black female student-athlete at Oregon to compete in a team national tournament. In the 1980s, the women’s soccer team played in multiple locations, including Autzen Stadium, local city parks and what are now the UO student rec turf fields next to Hayward Field.
