Skinner Butte Tour
Skinner Butte Park, one of Eugene’s oldest parks, is rich with local history and recreational opportunities. Located on a hill on the north edge of downtown Eugene, the park includes 100 acres along the Willamette River.
Walking Directions
Park in parking garage at 10th and Oak or travel by foot, bike or bus to the corner of 10th & Willamette St. Standing outside what is currently the Downtown Athletic Club building, look north toward Skinner Butte. Then look at this historical photos of the same view in 1921.
Head north on Willamette Street toward Skinner Butte. Turn right on 6th St, then turn left on High St. Cross the train tracks and take note of the Mims' House (part of the Downtown Tour) on your left. Continue north on High St. as it takes you around the east side of Skinner Butte. High St. turns into Cheshire Ave, and on your left you will see access points for the hiking trail that leads pedestrians to the top of Skinner's Butte.
